The site has dark volcanic soils – a stark contrast to the Sangreal site, although only 300 metres away. The fruit is hand-picked, then placed into an open fermenter, with about 50% destremmed. It’s aged in French oak barrels for 18 months, to add layers of spice and complexity. The wine is savoury and meaty, with a wide array of black and red fruits on the palate. Long textured finish with refined tannin.
